No, but I guess the US would raise hell if they found out captured SpecOps
would not be considered POW's.

Again, the US will not score any bonus points with it. Denying the Red
Cross/Red Crescent access to the prisoners, and only giving in after intense
pressure, makes it look as if the US is doing something to the prisoners
that it does not want the world to know about.
