I'll second that.... I research when I can or need to. If I don't know, I
ask. If I get something wrong, I'm (usually) politely informed by someone on
the list. I also try to provide net links and researched info to help
ongoing conversations when I can. It helps me feel like I'm contributing
;-).

And I *do* apologize if I ever make a mistake. I've apologized at least 2
times in the past 6 months for either misunderstanding what someone was
talking about (Jeroen and John Giorgis), or 1 or 2 for accidently posting
misinformation (ummmm posted yesterday, apologized today, oops ;) ).
Considering that's probably less than 1% of my posts, IMHO, it's a decent
track record.

For me, half the fun of being on this list has been learning new things in a
variety of fields. The math stuff is, however, stil WAY over my head. Isn't
that what we have calculators for?

Of course, it would be nice if the list were on-topic more :) I'm going to
do something about that over the next few days, myself. The interview with
DB on Art Bell covered a very wide range of topics. (I've been *really*
enjoying it) As I have time, I'm planning to try to post a Brin interview
comment here or there and see what people's reactions are.

:-)
