For example, Jeroen just mentioned why he doesn�t think that _Palestine_ is a country. But he couldn�t give a reasonable definition of what is a country. Something like: "X is a country iff there is a person P who is a head of state of X, there is a continental area of the Globe A, there is a set of people M called the Army forces of X such that M has military control over A and P commands M" With this definition, Argentina [a few days ago], Costa Rica, Kuwait under the Iraqi occupation, etc would not be countries. OTOH, the FARC-controlled area of Colombia would be a country. Alberto Monteiro who is reading too much Math stuff these days...
