I have also had that problem with CompUSA CD-Rs. I bought a 100 pack and had a 60% failure rate. I took the failed CDs back to CompUSA and had to argue my way up to the manager who finally gave me credit for them. I found that the CDs would work on my burner at work, but would not work on my burner at home. The CD burner at work was an HP 8x, and my one at home at the time was only a 4x. Contrary to what the manager claimed, certain CD-Rs simply won't work in certain CD burners. My personal rule of thumb: never buy bulk CD-R from CompUSA. My co-workers and I have had good experiences with these people: http://www.cd-recordable.com/ Gary
