Gould was the guy who got me back into reading science stuff and I have read almost everything non-technical he has written but as I branched out I came to believe that he is wrong about many things. I would have to say that "Darwin's Dangerous Idea" by Dennett is my farvorite science book.
 
Well, I've thought of it as a philosophy book.  I'm not saying it simply to diss him, heck I've got a philosophy degree, but it doesn't read like science to me...rather philosophical speculation based on science.  Nothing wrong with that at all, but not science.
