A couple of recent popular books are _The Meme Machine_ by Susan Blackmore and _Virus of the Mind_ by Richard Brodie. A more scholarly one is _Darwinizing Culture: The Status of Memetics as a Science_, edited by Robert Aunger, which is a collection of various meme-related papers. One of the "anti-meme" papers is available on the web: http://www.dan.sperber.com/meme.htm The problem with memes, to me, is that they are just too fuzzy and vague to be of much scientific use. Have there been any breakthroughs or new insights based on memetics? Ronnie N. Carpio [EMAIL PROTECTED] __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
