A comment like that, from someone who isn't your therapist or a
psychologist, shouldn't be taken that way. It's just a put-down that says
the person who said it is unhappy, which may or may not be relevant to you.
I doubt if anyone else thought it was an assumption about your mental state.
I certainly didn't. I know what it's like to want to defend myself from
every insult and attack, but I remind myself that much of the time, there is
really no reason to do so, and that if I do, it makes my community a less
pleasant place. It's hard to know which battles to pick, but it is
important to pick them. People will always say things that feel annoying,
insulting, dumb, etc.
You seem to be having a tough time letting the insults and attacks pass.
What can I do to help? What can the list do as a community for you?
