As I promised...er...someone, I started reading Kiln People. I'm about 1/4th of the way through, and I have to wonder, when added to his other works that I've read so far (primarily the Uplift books, though I've acquired a passing knowledge of Glory Season through the discussions), if DB doesn't secretly wish he was a mystery writer.
Or is it simply that exploring secrets is just so much a part of science fiction that it just seems that way? Thoughts?
