I guess it's probably my turn to tell you all about me...

My name is Reginald T. Bautista, but I usually go by Reggie or Reg. I'm 32
years old, and live in Kansas City, MO. I work as a Technology Analyst at
the home office of Hallmark Cards, Inc. doing tech support for the PC-based
networked cash registers in most of the American and Canadian Hallmark
stores.

I've been very happily married for 2 1/2 years to Anita Wallace-Bautista,
who is currently a music teacher in the Belton, MO school district and
working on her Masters degree in Music Education at the University of
Missouri at Kansas City (UMKC). We met at UMKC when we were both working on
our undergrad degrees (hers in Music Ed and mine in Music Composition with
an emphasis in Electronic Music). We just moved into our first house and
are still trying to figure out why we're having trouble fitting all of the
stuff that was in our two bedroom apartment into our three bedroom house
with garage... We don't have any children yet, but we do have a white cat
named Peasblossom after one of the faeries in Shakespeare's _A Midsummer
Night's Dream_.

I am a big fan of live theater. I've done several sound designs, some with
original music, for a community theater group in Kansas City, Kansas called
Wyandotte Players. I enjoy seeing plays at the various venues around KC
when I get a chance, although that's not nearly as often as I would like.

Both my wife and I love to read and to watch movies. I'm mostly interested
in science fiction and science fact, with some fantasy thrown in (I'm
becoming a pretty big fan of Michael Moorcock's Elric stories). My wife is
a little more interested in fantasy and less in science fact than me.

We have a group of friends that usually gets together every Saturday, mostly
to play role-playing games (most recently Champions), but sometimes to see a
movie or just hang out. In addition to that, my wife and I like to play
computer games (Diablo II Expansion, SimCity 3000, and Civilization III are
what we're playing most right now, and we've got copies of Heroes of Might
and Magic III - I think - and Total Annihilation ready to be installed). As
for non-computer games, we've been playing Illuminati: New World Order and
Cosmic Encounters a bit more often lately during our Saturday gatherings.

A quick aside -- Cosmic Encounters is a game with a pretty simple set of
rules, and every player gets a unique "alien power" card (or cards -- we've
used up to 5 per player) that allow you to break those rules in very
specific, very powerful ways. There are also some other cards that come up
on a regular basis that let you break the rules in less drastics ways. It's
really fun to play, and can be very mentally challenging. I highly
recommend it.

Anita and I both will listen to just about any kind of music, although I
don't like country as much as she does and she's not as fond of some of the
more esoteric electronic and modern classical stuff that I like. Mutual
favorites include Tonic, Ani DiFranco, Matchbox 20, Connie Dover, and just
about anything by Prokofiev.

I mentioned being a music major... My major instrument for my degree was
voice, although I also play percussion and used to play piano in a jazz
quintet (many many moons ago). I also dabble at guitar and several other
instruments. My wife sings also (we met in choir), and plays french horn,
flute, and classical guitar.

Without getting into really petty details like the fact that I like Buffy
the Vampire Slayer and it's spinoff, Angel, and I don't think Andromeda
sucks (although it could be better), I think that about covers it.

OK, who's next?

Reggie Bautista
