Ahh, but what about the planned ones? A major point in Lois McMaster
Bujold's Vorkosigan series is the use of artificial wombs as the standard
birth method. Gets rid of a lot of the danger of 'body birth'  And having
been through the process 3 times, getting my hand crushed each time, I know
how painful it all can be. Took me hours before I could write again! ;-)

Anyway, some pretty great social changes would follow.

I must admit though, I find the "just a few years" comments a bit too glib.
It might turn out like nuclear fusion, always "just 20 years away."

Personally, I think that group is going to scream to high hell about how
evil the technology is.

Exactly! Plus there are other reasons for having the female of the species
about. Cups of tea, meals, mowing the lawns, making sure there's enough
space in the fridge for the essentials...
