Follows some constructive criticism.

This is not a rant, and it is not Jeroen-bashing. It is
personal observation, highly subjective and therefore far
from absolute.

Jeroen, when I made my remark about pompous polemic (not the exact
phrase I used but close enough), I was not being constructive.
I canna speak for anyone else here, and won't even try, but my
visceral impressions of your behaviour are that: you answer
questions with questions, you won't acknowledge being in the wrong,
you won't admit the validity of any opinion differing from your
own, you snipe just as much as anyone else I've seen here, and
you handwave and put on an attitude of wounded innocence and
claiming to be misunderstood when challenged on any of this.

All obviously highly subjective, as I said. Now for the
constructive part:

Why would I get these impressions? Am I the only one getting
these impressions? More to the point, are these the impressions
you're trying to give? Do you care that this is how I'm interpreting
your behaviour? Even more to the point: if they aren't and you do,
what can be changed so they're no longer given?

That's the criticism in its entirety. I'm not going to suggest
any actions you might want to consider taking; that's entirely
up to you. I'm posting this so that you might have an idea
what I'm feeling and why I'm responding the way I do when/if
I reply to you. What you do with the information -- which is
meant solely constructively -- is your business.

It really *is* meant constructively; I'm not subtle nor
manipulative enough to perform character defamation under
the guise of sweetness and light. (I try not to defame at all,
but I'm less than perfect.)

Oh, and BTW: I'm not basing *any* of my observations on the
Israel/Palestine threads (which I didn't read), but almost
exclusively on the JDG-admonition topic and its descendants.
