"Condoning" is more fair than "all for government surveillance," but neither
one is quite fair.  David sees adoption of certain technologies as
inevitable, so he doesn't really take a strong position about whether or not
they *should* be adopted.  Once the technology cat is out of the bag, so to
speak, it can't be stuffed back in.  Governments *will* use new surveillance
technologies.  So will your neighbors, whether you condone it or not.  The
question is how to respond.
