<< I'm interesting in getting recommendations of good books to read about the Pacific War from all perspectives. >>
_The Pacific War_ by John Costello and _A Battle History of the Imperial Japanese Navy_ by Paul S. Dull are both excellent. Check their bibliographies for more. Oddly enough, Herman S. Wouk's The Winds of War and War and Remembrance, although rather soap-opera-y as novels, are excellent as histories. The second book, in particular, is very very good on the Pacific theater (esp. Midway & Leyte Gulf). Tom Beck "I always knew I'd see the first man on the Moon. I didn't realize I'd also see the last." - Jerry Pournelle
