Its a matter of convenience.  Yes, it is FAR cheaper to buy all the
parts for a computer and assemble it yourself (to the tune of ~$1k!!!)
but for most people, its not worth the hassle.  Same with creating what,
to them, are complicated arrangements for those of us who are grumpy
about HTML email.

disclaimer: I absolutely HATE html email, but understand why some people
choose (or are forced) to use it.  I would never dream of enforcing my
preferences on someone else.
