I noticed reading Kiln People that Brin keeps referring to real people as
having brown-colored skin - like that was the normal color for everyone.
There are golems that have white or fair color, but they are considered fake
looking - different enough to not be confused with real people. Do you think
Brin was alluding to what is mentioned below?
