I never saw the evidence (which does not mean the evidence does not exist, I
am only saying I have not seen it), the only thing I have seen about this
was a news report saying that Israel captured the ship and immediately
accused Arafat of smuggling weapons.

Possible other explanation: he was arrested based on the statement by the
abovementioned "somebody", but as there was no (or insufficient) evidence
against him, he had to be released. I assume that is the same way Israel
treats its own citizens: if they are arrested but there is no proof of a
crime, they are released.

I am not talking about Israeli newspapers, I am talking about people who, in
discussions, make those statements.

I do not live in Israel or the Occupied Terrorities, I live in The
Netherlands. We do not receive Palestinian television here. Maybe people who
get satellite TV can receive it, but I do not have a satellite dish (and I
am not planning on getting one).
