Hi Reggie!

I haven't seen your face around here before, but I haven't been online in a
while either. May I ask where your photo' is, on Steve Sloan's webpage? Ha
ha.

I'm particularly interested in more stories about glavers and glaver type
creatures. I believe Germanic culture calls them Doppelgangers, Anglic
culture calls them Changelings, Mad Magazine calls them Alfred, and other
cultures call them other things. Brin kind of gives them some sort of
nobility, which I find distasteful because I thought he was sharper than
that. But that was pre-fanatic Brin I s'pose. Excrement is what excrement
does [Increment the solution!]. The coconut-fiber-to-electricity scheme was
brilliant, thank you!

I could go and re-read some Clarke, but I don't think that would be
worthwhile, I still remember what Clarke has to say. But by all means use
Clarke if you have not read him before.

As far as music goes I'm typically American without the fag-waving. I really
enjoyed the movie about the clowns who beat up mimes for fun, by the way.

That is, as I've told a very dear teacher of mine once, I'm eclectic. I like
the Moody Blues, Muddy Waters, W.A. Mozart, L. Beethoven, L. Hill, T.A.F.K.A.
Prince, Sweet Janet Jackson (she has the type of belly that reminds me of a
very dear girlfriend of mine), Quincy Jones (I recognize his signature
anywhere), Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, Michael Stipe (the guy who ate
my burrito, whiny voice and all, decent writer tho), Dave Matthews, The
Rolling Stones, Elvis, Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Minnie Riperton, Juan dela
Cruz, Alanis, Van Morrison, gosh I feel like i'm at Oscar, Journey (believe
it or not!), Sara Maclachlan, Sinead, Kate, Bush, Dolly (her voice, her jugs
are n-ormous), The Judds, Tammy, Zimmerman (not a fag waiver), Shakti, Ravi,
Dave Brubeck, Billie, Jazz, Led Zep(I was turned onto them at baseball
practice), The Doors, Pink Floyd, I really am at Oscar but I'm sure I'll
forget, which is why I used the device of giving meaning to what is not said
(how clever, people have been doing that at least since Buddhism was
invented), anybody with a decent voice and a meaningful song that I happen to
hear (being deliberately vague and all-inclusive is another device, as well
as being self-reflective within the text), the Maytals, Madonna, Elton,
George Michael, Queen, the Kinks, Steely Dan, Bang-the-drum guy, Peter
Gabriel, Pavarotti, Carreras, Placido, the Irish guys are okay, Brittany
(talk about a shweet pumpkin ass, I can't really remember any of her *music*,
that says many nice things about her sweet), Jethro Tull, Yes, CSNY, people
will be mad if I don't page huh?, Buddy Holly (there, how do you page a dead
guy?), Sinatra, Bennet (the Gus Grissom of crooners according to Puzo),
Bing's okay, Bobby Darin, Nora (well, I'm not a fan, but people I like love
her), Randy Santiago (this one's obligatory, I played pool with Joji dela
Pena who introduced us once, but I do feel like a "Babae - ero" in the
mornings), Pure Prairie League, Alabama, Devil-went-down-to-Georgia guy, Earl
somethin-or-other, reminds me of Slim Pickens, fantastic banjo player,
Scruggs?, I've mentioned Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt, Pauly Simon and
Art Garfunkel, Billy Joel, Jim Croce, the Carpenters, the Who, there's just
too many, Mary Tyler Moore, Dick Van Dyke, Pickles and Mel, Benny Hill,
Celine's okay, Peter Paul and Mary, whoever sang 'Eres Tu', Sharon Cuneta,
Leo Roque, Lea Salonga (I really did meet her once!), Lilet Espiritu, Dennis
DeYoung and Gang, Concrete Blonde, Glenn Miller's okay, BeeGees okay, Johnny
(Cash and others), Miami Sound Machine (or whatever group Gloria Estefan is
with these days), Jen Lopez (the sweetest honeydew around), Guido, Manfred
Mann, John Mellencamp (hey, I lived in a pink house), a man's life might be
defined by the sights-sounds-tastes-smells he experiences or at least the
ones he remembers -- is my life then really a broadway musical?, Earth Wind
and Fire, Motown, Ray Charles, there's just too many, Eric Clapton, Jefferson
Pilot, Grace Slick, the Pretenders, Aerosmith made me laugh, some Gospel the
crossover artists, Hank Williams ("you're cheatin, heart" --> a device from
Benny Hill again, but really really useful! I used it once on a Hemingway
short story "The short happy life of Francis MacComber"), Cat Stevens, RunDMC
(thanks Dee!), everybody at Farm Aid, and in Michael Jackson's "We Are the
World" video, Fine Young Pumpkin Asses, Culture Club, Really Smashing Pumpkin
Asses, Schroeder, the Rutles, everybody whoever sang "La Bamba" or "Lean on
Me", and all old black ladies with distinctive batting stances, they play
like pure music, Tippi Hedren, Karl Malden, Judy, Barbara, Barry, Neil
Diamond, the New Christy Minstrels, whoever else fill in your name here. I
wouldn't cry myself if I were left off a list at Oscar, I'm not that
sentimental, or do I have to repeat myself?

Putang ina, si Lin Minmei pare!
