What I find amazing is that _all_ (and I mean ALL) long discussions/rants/argument/etc on this list involve Jeroen as the argumentive heavy. They center around beating some sense into Jeroen. Why are everyone's arrows always pointed in that direction? Lately, it is becoming comical to watch Jeroen argue for ....well, for arguing's sake. Even more comical is how NOTHING we (notice I say we, as in 'we against Jeroen') say has any effect, other than to give Jeroen more crap to argue about ( "Ummmm, I would like to buy an argument"). The classic antagonist, which fits well culturally for us Americans to want to just bash the crap out of - where every antagonist in every story, movie, and tv show is a certified asshole. Don't blame us Jeroen... we were raised to behave this way. I don't see it changing soon.
I see so few arguments between people other than Jeroen. If there are arguments between others, they are short lived, and generally do not antagonize every person on the list. I think John G. has held his tongue because he has seen that it is pointless to argue with Jeroen. After this, _I_ am going to stop arguing with Jeroen as well. Yeah.... Moderator... Riiiiiiight! He sure 'Moderates' the list, doesn't he? The list climate is always so moderate after Jeroen speaks...isn't it. His influence is so 'calming'. The voice of Reason, Fairness and Goodwill. Jeroen (or Julia), you have my permission to 'moderate' me off the list if you so feel I am a disruptive member of this list. I could use a sip of self-rightousness about now. This list has become the 'Jeroen' list. In some ways, I wish I was kicked off the list, for I tire of Jeroen being the center of every conflict.
