I think folks (and the list in general) were more polite when we knew that Brin would be reading their messages. Sometimes that was a bad thing. I was terrified to post when he was here for fear that he would read something I wrote and say "who is that idiot?" (Not that that couldn't happen now with the rest of you, of course.) A few IAAMOAC's and thinks would get much better in a hurry. Then again, I could just be pining for the old days... - jmh
