The speaker in the show *did* speak out of personal experience, he was talking to his son about the other woman, who the son met and to whom the other woman apologized; the old man saying that she was beautiful and that for a while he would go over to her place every day just to see her, and then he explained to his son that once or twice in a man's lifetime he obtains(??) a "secret love". I had never thought of that before, maybe I'm still too young. I'm very curious about the idea hence my asking about it here. I mean, the old man seemed to be happy and seemed to love his wife.
