[Chiisana as opposed to kirei-na. I saw them both.]

A japanese programme aired today about . . . hmmm, what was it about? It
seemed sit-comish, but wasn't quite a sit-com because it had a little drama,
a little satire, and a vignette. I watched the whole thing.

The girls . . . er, women looked marvelous [bijin da yo!]. There's another
stereotype I had, flushed. Maybe not a stereotype because I chased lots of
catnip-tail in college, even gave my Norton anthology to Miss Shampoo.

A young lady named Miyuki lives with her families, seems to be two families
or one extended family. I couldn't quite sort out the social relations of
each family member. I saw _Ikiru_ in there somewhere. Her husband was
travelling abroad, she took care of the family business, a restaurant.

The plot really doesn't matter, except that I laughed. The characters felt
real though, I won't try to describe them.

What I wanted to discuss was an idea in the show I hadn't really thought
before -- the idea of a "secret love" that a man encounters once or twice in
a lifetime. Love and mistresses I understand, but why secret? Does the
secrecy make the love taste better? I'm kind of bewildered.

Any thoughts?
