IIRC, the the person who wrote the Green Lantern Oath along with reams of 
other comic book continuity was none other than Alfred Bester, who had a 
Babylon 5 character named after him.  The PsiCore in B5 is also based 
somewhat on ideas from the Bester novel, _The Demolished Man_.  Just in case 
anyone's interested.
