Addendum [not really, nice latinate word though]:

>> And even then, the way out is for someone to directly
talk to you in explicit terms, as if you had the free will to do so, and even
if you don't think you have the free will to do so [oh, geez, the world will
end or something]. <<

I am an inactive member of the SJSU honor fraternity, Tau Delta Phi. I had a
terrible experience there, and one nice Chinese student even advised me not
to join beforehand. When one guy physically through me out, I took the hint
and hardly ever contact or refer to them anymore. Serves them or me right.
I don't know why I feel I have to mention this [geez the world might end or
something]. That to me is an explicit communication by action, and why I
refer to myself as an inactive member.

But when you use words, you should use words and not "hint" because hints are
really stupid if your aim is to get a message across to someone. Tell them
the truth in no uncertain terms if you feel strongly about it. God, or what
have you, the .260 universe, won't mind or care. [take my advice or leave
it, but you'll get a better reaction from me if you take my advice]
