I am not saying losing a lot of blood is a good thing. What I meant was that AFAIK, there is no linear relationship between the seriousness of an injury and the amount of blood loss resulting from that injury. For example, if you cut yourself while shaving, the injury itself is minor but it can bleed tremendously. When you break your leg, the injury itself is major but the loss of blood is minimal (that is, blood leaving the body -- internal bleeding is a different story).
