<< That's all I have time to find now on this. Can someone post the dimensions of a regulation soccer (football to everyone not in the northern 2 countries of North America) field? >>
Not less than 100 yards long and not more than 150 yards long, not less than 65 yards wide and not more than 100 yards wide. For international games, not less than 72 yards wide (although that can be waived, as it was in some cases for the 1994 World Cup in the United States; for instance, for the games played in Giants Stadium, which can accommodate only a 68-yard-wide field). Also, remember that there are at least four other major varieties of football besides association (soccer), American, and Canadian: Australian, Rugby (which actually has two types - Rugby Union, played with 15 players a side, and Rugby League, played with 13 players a side), and Gaelic. I have no idea what the dimensions of their fields are. Nor am I going to go look it up. You're on your own there. Tom Beck www.prydonians.org "I always knew I'd see the first man on the Moon.
