We had an early August wedding almost 3 years ago, and decided to have the reception under a large tent in the rather substantial back yard of the parsonage behind the church. We had a few things planned for outside the tent (like a pin~ata), and had done those, and then everyone wanted to watch us open our presents so we started to do that, and it started to rain. In fact, it started to pour. I'm not sure I've *ever* seen rain as heavy as that without heavy winds, and the wind that day was almost non-existant. It let up right around the time we were finished opening presents. It worked out pretty well. No one got wet, but the rain cooled things down a lot. (I'm not sure what we were thinking, planning an outside reception in August...) It has rained very heavily for at least a short period of time on our past two anniversaries. If anyone is planning to be in Kansas City this year on August 7, bring an umbrella...
