I have always seen "rebuses" used as the plural.  "Rebi" sounds like a 
Jewish leader, while "rebae" sounds like someone has produced a whole army 
of clones of a country-music singer . . .

(And FWIW, Eudora's spell-checker sees nothing wrong with "rebuses" in the 
above sentence, while it marked the other two as possible misspellings . . . )
