Sort of.  I think I could have said "Soils fewer oaths," and meant the
same thing.  Swearing on the Bible in court is a quaint ritual, probably
harmless, that nevertheless manages to offend my sense of liberal secular
propriety on the one hand while smacking of superstitious idolatry on the
other. YMMV.
