Did anyone listen to the NPR article this week about Kennewick Man, the
skeleton found in Oregon that appears to be 9000 years old and does not
resemble native American skeletons? This was with the scientists who are
happy to be granted the chance finally to study it, and included an interview
with a native American representative who said, of course it is our ancestor
because no one was here before we were and we know that because our stories,
our worldview, tell us so. We don't need to study the skeleton because we
know what it is already. This is a similar instance of worldview blocking
possibility.
