I didn't hear it on NPR, but I remember seeing a PBS
story about him - wasn't he found in a cave?  And at
that time scientists were not allowed to study the
bones adequately b/c of the 'ancestor argument.' 
IIRC, there was even talk of looking further to see if
perhaps there was evidence of a 'colony.'
(Aren't there also caucasoid mummies in the Gobi
desert, in the middle of China?)
