And not only in US society... :-( I tend to be loyal towards my employer, but that loyalty goes overboard the minute they tell me my temporary contract will not be renewed and they give all kinds of bullshit "reasons" for their decision. The default response is now: go home, call in sick the next morning, and never return. If they do not appreciate my presence anyway, why still show up for work for that last month? I still get paid 100% of my salary while on sick leave. (In this country, if an employer does not want to renew a temporary contract, they have to inform the employee at least one month before the contract expires.
