If the individual lived in the US and were not legally blind before
selling the cornea, and became legally blind as a result of selling the
cornea, the US would bear a burden, due to the way the tax code is
written -- if you're legally blind, you get an extra deduction. So
you'd end up paying less in taxes, and the remainder of the taxpayers
would be subsidizing you. So yeah, you'd end up being at least a minor
burden on society, at least in the US. :P
