I agree with John, and had much the same
idea ( imagine that!  I guess I'll have to
watch the sky for pig droppings :-) ) when
thinking about a conversion to touch screen
voting.  I would suggest that the paper form
could be something as simple as a receipt roll
with bar codes (and perhaps names printed below)
that could be either kept in the machine until
the polls close or broken apart in slips to be
counted as the punch cards are.
