"Dinging," however, is an expression of community standards. As a recent
discussion demonstrated, the community-standard of Brin-L is that private
messages should not be posted on-list without permissino of the sender.
You, however, do not have the right to set community standards. By
definition such standards are set by the active participants in the
community.
