I wonder what will be the next thing we will not > be allowed to say... I think you are once again deliberately trying to incite a revolution. You have been ranting about our listowners since you were removed from being a co-owner of Cornell's brin-l listserver for abuse of power. You have tried several times to encourage the list to rise up against both Nick and Julia. Your comments are pathetically transparent when examined from this perspective. Did you think that we all magically forgot that you used brin-l.com as a public call to crusade against Nick, Julia and John (and posted their real life contact information) because you apologized? Did you think we had forgotten the nasty, outraged post full of threats you made when you were removed from power? As far as I can see, your stated motives haven't changed. You are also the only person who seems to be at the center of any unpleasantness that's popped up over the last few months. Between your recent flamewar with Erik Reuter and your arguments with Nick Arnett and with JDG, you certainly seem to have become our list demagogue. It's not a title I'd be proud of, personally. This list has been archived since its inception. Members who join are informed that their posts will be archived and that they can access those archives through the web interface at mccmedia.com. If they have a problem with that, the unsubscribe commands are posted there as well. I have posted them at the end of this e-mail for everyone's convenience. You knew the list was archived. You have not had a problem with it until now. You have been a list member for over 4 or 5 years. Why should the list suddenly change its policies to fit your newfound opinions? But the point isn't the copyright, now is it? You're trying to incite a revolution and you're using a conveniently current onlist debate to do so. Nick is within his rights to protect himself from threats of lawsuits. He is also within his right to protect his business and his server from threats of any kind (whether they are legal threats, or spam or viruses.) You're making legal threats that fit that description. I would like to publicly go on record as stating that I personally fully support Julia and Nick in this matter. I believe that our server is fine just where it is, too. If the majority of the list feels discussing and defining list-administrator duties would be constructive then I will support and participate in such a debate. I won't, however, support your call to do so. Your motives are dishonest, IMO. Oh, and by the way, to unsubscribe from brin-l, you or anyone else merely needs to send the following message to [EMAIL PROTECTED]: unsubscribe.
