I don't think so. I hope not. Because that would set a precedent for
another mailing list I'm on, where there are 2 or 3 other Julias, and I
wouldn't be in a position to be the "default" Julia, and would have to
go by something else. :)
I think that in the situation where 2 or more people share the same
first name, you just kinda figure out from context who the referent is.
(And it's easier in e-mail than in RL, and *eventually* you learn to
figure out from intonation and nonverbal cues just which of the 4 Dans
someone is referring to, without resorting to the nicknames.)
