Billy, Joni, and Janis are great but have more limitations on the power of their voices. They exude power in more subtle ways I think. I see Whitney and Mariah as lesser talents singing in basicly the same tradition as Aretha. All the singers mentioned are great and wonderful vocalists (Yes John, even Celine). But I honestly believe that the only living female pop vocalist who can compare to Aretha is Barbara.
