Like Cornell, which never went down, right?
<end>
Big difference. Cornell had a number of sysadmins who could solve any technical problem with the listserver that might occur. AFAIK, our current server has only one sysadmin -- Arnett; if he isn't available, any technical problems with the server are probably not going to be solved before Arnett comes back.

What if the server crashes when Arnett is on vacation, or too busy with something else, or hospitalised, or perhaps even dead? It might be a long time before Brin-L will be up and running again.

Lay off it Jeroen, with the possible exception of Erik, the rest of us
are grateful for the effort Nick is putting in.
Oh, it's not that I don't appreciate him offering his server to host the list; what I have a problem with is that in the current situation the list could go down for weeks without anyone being around to solve it.

Well, that and his behaviour... :-(

Jeroen -- wondering if he will be silenced again over this...
