Ahh. The figures there are old and somewhat general. The guys there
know it needs a work-over.

"***Demon uses 0845 numbers on the Standard Dial Up account.
0845 numbers are described by Oftel as "local call rate". BT charges
these at local call rates "

I mean free-dial ISP's. AND Demon charge you for the SDU which is so
poor it's unfunny. For free-dial, you're looking at 45 per month
with Demon. While admitedly they give you cheaper phone calls, it's
still THREE times as expensive as a standard free-dial ISP and
considerably more expensive than ADSL!

Yes there are some nice deals out there...but most of them have 12,
24 or even 36-month minimum contracts! No good for me, given I move
arround so much (as a student). It's why I'm with Eclipse who have a
1 month minimum. (sure, it's 27 per month rather than the 24 of
Pipex, but it's cheaper than paying for a year when I need 8 months!)
