I smell a scientific study here. Perhaps there is a gene for spelling and fidelity. 
Here is how it might work. Good spellers have excellent memory for irrelevant or 
dangerous information. Bad speellers can't remember how to spell because they are 
inattentitive to these details. And yet it these details that drive couples apart. If 
you remember every stupid heartless or irrattional thing your spouse does you are 
bound to divorce. But if you forget or don't care about these details you can stick 
with the initial feelings of love that results in long happy marriages
