Yes, mine for one. I like the brin-l anarchy. It gives interesting ideas a place

weirdnesses I've seen here. I'm also on the Culture list but by far this list
has something the Culture doesn't.

But, Nick, if indeed you can sincerely get into any kind of legal trouble for
hosting the list as it currently is (without further moderation, further
policies added, etc.) I'd rather have someone else (I believe Ronn offered
already) take over and run the list somewhere else on a public domain where the
current anarchy doesn't pose a legal problem for anyone.

Just to make it clear: I was _not_ asking for the job, and I don't want it.

Awhile back, when it seemed that the future of the list might be in doubt, I thought that if it seemed to be the only way to save the list from going away entirely, I would step forward and offer to set up the list on one of the available free servers, perhaps Smartgroups (I have had too many problems with Yahoo! to use them). As things went, things got straightened out then, and I never made the offer. Perhaps I should not have even mentioned it the other day.

And, if anyone might still be thinking of offering me the job:

Second, in light of that, Nick's actions can only be faulted for bending
over backwards too much. I think that anyone who hacks the list server
and then threatens to destroy the list administrator should be banned from
the list.

I'm not sure I would have been as patient as Nick has been with some of the things which have happened.

FWIW, I too like the list as it is. I just wish we didn't have to spend so much time arguing over who allegedly insulted who, etc. Let's try remembering IAAMOAC, please.

Whose Power extends to great and small,
Who guides the stars with steadfast law,
Whose least creation fills with awe,
O grant thy mercy and thy grace,
To those who venture into space.
