One exception: multiple miscarriages are more frequent
in a subset of lupus patients, and may even be the
'presenting' clue that leads to diagnosis of the
disease.

Timing is another factor - once a woman is over 35,
and especially over 40, miscarriages are much more
common.

The wife of a colleague went into premature labor last
week; he's 1.5 pounds. Massive cerebral hemorrhages.
They're going to have to decide about turning off the
ventilator in the next few days. God help them.
