This is serious rumour and innuendo that should be backed up and documented
before stating.

For one thing, the Democratic Senate took almost a year to even confirm all
of his political appointees. Neverminding, even, the late start he got
because of Florida.

Besides, I seem to recall a moment ago that you stated that you prefered a
slow approach that would build consensus. Given that most defensive
security measures cannot be taken without offending civil libertarians, I
think that it does make certain sense to spend a few months considering
your options before acting.

Why Zim, you warmonger, you!

I wish we had Brin-L archives back to 1991 to see if you were truly among
that small minority that advocated pushing for Baghdad.

Nevertheless, I can't believe that you are criticizing Bush I for choosing
the path of peace over the path of war. Iraq was defeated, it made a
deal with us, and agreed to let in inspectors. Of course, we all know
how well the UN would hold Iraq to its deal - but for someone who began
this letter with a criticism of "Monday Morning Quarterbacing", you are
certainly engaging in some world-class 20/20 hindsight of Bush I's actions.
