Russia and China probably would not veto this were it not for France.
Why wouldn't they? I'd say that Russia and China are quite capable of making their own decisions, without having to follow France's lead.
>> The phrase "No Blood for Oil", couldn't be a more accurate >> description of the oppression in Iraq being wholeheartedly >> support by the French government. > >Wholehearted support??? Surely you don't mean that. Hyperbole, right?
I stand by that statement.
Not supporting America's war against Iraq does not equal wholehearted support for oppression.
The US doesn't seem to be planning to go to war against Saudi Arabia anytime soon. Following your logic, the US is thereby wholeheartedly supporting the oppressive and terrorism-supporting regime of Saudi Arabia.
The US also doesn't appear to want to launch a war against China. Following your logic, the US is thereby wholeheartedly supporting a non-democratic communist regime.
Now, you *still* stand by your statement, or are you going to replace it with a somewhat more nuanced statement?
