Working in tech support, I'm torn between wanting to yell at people "DID YOU EVEN OPEN THE MANUAL?!?" and thanking them for *not* reading the manual and thereby giving me job security...
I've written some of those manuals, and I know that at least some users read them, because I would get feedback when they discovered the things that were supposed to be edited out but weren't because someone in marketing was screaming that we need to ship a copy of the manual _right now_ . . .
