My daughter used to "game" with us when she was about 5. The GM would let her roll dice and give her one of the bad guys to move around the game map. She never realized that she wasn't really participating. Unfortunately, most of the games we've had recently haven't lent themsselves to that sort of opportunity. Usually, my daughter and son play in the room while we are gaming.
