If Turkey joined the EU, then it would have overwheming repercussions, right? Wouldn't Turkish citizens have the same right to travel, work, and live anywhere in Europe, passing through customs with a wave like I've seen other EU members do now? IMHO, that would be a real step forward for Europe, transforming it into a multicultural association. Given that, I'd guess that it would be a very difficult step to get past the public.
