Rush Limbaugh resigns from ESPN's NFL Sunday Countdown after racial remark
NEW YORK (AP) - Conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh resigned from ESPN on Wednesday night, three days after saying Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb is overrated because the media wanted to see a black quarterback succeed.
I think I was hearing something about this, and I thought it was stupid -- look how many black quarterbacks there are these days. So I can't remember which one was getting the hype being questioned.
As far as the Washington DC football team goes, I heard an interesting proposal: Don't change the name, but totally change the logo. But keep the same colors. You can do it. A red potato (of course, only the *skin* is red!), split at the top with a nice pat of butter will do it nicely. :)
Cute, but the name would still be offensive to Native Americans.
Personally, I still think it's absolutely ridiculous that the judge ruled against them. I wonder if he would have cared more if the team's mascot were an african american in chains and the team were called the 'slaves' (or worse, the 'n'-word). :-(
I suppose we should simply add this small ruling to the gigantic pile of unfair US legislations against Native Americans.
