Marx was not a jew. His father converted and he was raised christian. He was 
an atheist and he did not embrace judaism as either a religion or a culture he 
wanted to be associated with. I am a jew. I identify myself with the culture 
of the jews. I do not believe in god in any traditional sense (or for that 
matter in any non-traditional sense). To a religous jew I may be a fraud but to 
myself I am a jew
