The difference, howevver, is that the number of kids in school now, as well as the number graduating, is much higher than in 1917, or 1943, and are probably more intelligent to boot. They SHOULD know more! Besides which, saying that people were ignorant of history in the past is no excuse for NOT criticizing history education NOW. Instead, it should serve as more of an impetus.
